Prerequisites

If you haven't already, follow the initial steps of the Getting Started guide:

  1. Install Meltano
  2. Create your Meltano project

Installation and configuration

  1. Add the tap-tableau extractor to your project using 
    meltano add
     : 
    2. meltano add extractor tap-tableau
  2. Configure the tap-tableau settings using 
    meltano config
     : 
    3. meltano config tap-tableau set --interactive
  3. Test that extractor settings are valid using 
    meltano config
     : 
    4. meltano config tap-tableau test

  • Environment variable: TAP_TABLEAU_SITE_URL_ID

Site ID if not main or using Tableau Online


Configure this setting directly using the following Meltano command:

Personal access token name (personal_access_token_name)

  • Environment variable: TAP_TABLEAU_PERSONAL_ACCESS_TOKEN_NAME

API access token name


Configure this setting directly using the following Meltano command:

meltano config tap-tableau set personal_access_token_name [value]

Personal access token secret (personal_access_token_secret)

  • Environment variable: TAP_TABLEAU_PERSONAL_ACCESS_TOKEN_SECRET

API access token secret value


Configure this setting directly using the following Meltano command:
